At CBC, our mission is to compassionately and competently communicate the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and counsel the fullness of that gospel message in its application to all of life and relationships (Acts 20:27; Romans 1:16). We believe that the Scriptures are certain and sufficient for this task as our only infallible authority for faith and life, including all saving knowledge, hope, and obedience in and to God, by the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:3-4).
As biblical counselors, we believe that God has elected to use his people as his instruments and ambassadors of reconciliation and redemption, within his church and to the world, through the counsel of the word—encouraging confession and repentance (James 5:16; Matthew 4:7), encouraging faith (Mark 11:22; 1 John 5:5), bearing the burdens of one another (2 Timothy 4:2; Galatians 6:2), building each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11), praying (Ephesians 6:18), and speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), all to the glory and enjoyment of God (1 Corinthians 10:31; Philippians 4:4).
Our counselors are certified through the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) and counsel according to their statement of affirmations and denials found here under the section on "Biblical Counseling Presuppositions".
Adam Sandlin holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas. He has been working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families on an individual and group basis for almost a decade in community and private settings as well as through discipleship, youth, recovery, and teaching ministries in the local church. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is certified as a Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors.
Adam loves counseling all age groups and has specialized in working with children and their families, young adults, young married couples, and men struggling with sexual sin. Adam has a heart for those in moments of spiritual crisis who are having difficulty applying the gospel and person of Jesus Christ to all of life and relationships.
Adam believes that God’s sufficient Word and power have “granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence” (2 Peter 1:3). Through the counseling relationship God has made a means of grace to be glorified in the transforming of His people into His image “from one degree of glory to another” (2 Corinthians 3:18). It is Adam’s confident hope that through the ministry of the Word hearts and lives are able to be transformed.
Adam and his wife worship as covenant members of North Point Church in Denton along with their daughter Lydia, and previously with The Village Church in Flower Mound.
